Carara National Park — Guided Rainforest Half-Day

Sitting exactly on the transition zone between the dry Pacific forests to the north and the humid rainforests to the south, Carara concentrates species from both worlds — you'll spot wildlife here that you cannot see anywhere else in the country in a single walk. Our naturalist guide brings a professional field telescope so you can watch **scarlet macaws** — one of Costa Rica's largest wild populations flies over these trees daily — from just a few meters away, in full color. Along the well-maintained flat trails you'll also see white-faced capuchin and howler monkeys, iguanas basking in the sun, poison-dart frogs on the leaf litter, motmots, toucans and dozens of other tropical birds.
