Morning · Class II-IIIWhite Water Rafting Class II & III on the Balsa River
This is the safest and most thrilling adventure to enjoy with the whole family. The activity begins by picking you up at your hotel or at our company office, located 100m North of The Police Station of La Fortuna. Then we drive in a modern and comfortable bus with AC for about 45 minutes to reach the Río La Balsa. Upon arrival we gear you up (life jacket, helmet and paddle) and give a full safety talk so you enjoy a safe experience. Our guides are bilingual, certified and have a minimum of 10 years of experience. After the talk we do a little practice and start the descent: 2 hours running a 10 km section with an average of 25 rapids, full of fun waves and big splashes. Along the way we stop to enjoy seasonal fruit like pineapple, watermelon or mango, and rest at a nice spot on the riverside. During the tour you can see a diversity of wildlife as well as wonderful scenes of dense vegetation and landscapes; the water temperature is perfect for swimming. At the end we wait for you with the bus, water and towels, then return to La Fortuna where we offer a delicious traditional lunch and coffee, and you can see the funny photographs of yourself on the rapids. After lunch we take you back to your hotel in La Fortuna.
Afternoon · Class IIIAfternoon Trip: White Water Rafting Class III on Río Sarapiquí
If you are one of those people who sleep late or want to take advantage of the morning for another activity, then this is the best rafting option for your family and friends. The activity begins by picking you up at your hotel or at our company office, located in Fortuna Ave 333, St 460. Then we drive in a modern and comfortable bus with AC for about one hour to reach the Río Sarapiquí. Upon arrival we gear you up (life jacket, helmet and paddle) and give a full safety talk so you enjoy a safe experience. Our guides are bilingual, certified and have a minimum of 5 years of experience. After the safety talk we do a little practice and start the descent: 2 hours running a 10 km section with an average of 25 rapids, full of fun waves and big splashes. Along the way we stop to enjoy seasonal fruit like pineapple, watermelon or mango, and rest at a nice spot on the riverside. As an optional activity, we also stop at a place where you can jump from a cliff — not too high and deep enough — where the guides give you tips and safety measures. During the tour you can see a diversity of wildlife as well as wonderful scenes of dense vegetation and landscapes; the water is clear and the temperature is perfect for swimming. At the end, the driver waits for you at our take-out point with the bus, water and towels, and we offer tropical fruit, Costa Rican snacks and coffee, plus you can see the funny photographs of yourself on the rapids. After enjoying the fruit and snacks, we take you back to your hotel in La Fortuna.
Extreme · Class III-IVWhite Water Rafting Class III & IV in Río Sarapiquí
Enjoy our most challenging adventure — a white water rafting tour with Class III & IV rapids. This thrilling 2-hour adventure is the best option for adrenaline junkies. Raft 9 miles (14.5 km) down the Río Sarapiquí with over 30 continuous rapids, while leaving enough time to swim and snack on Costa Rican fruit. Afterwards, your guide rewards you with water and towels and takes you to a local restaurant in La Fortuna for lunch. The Río Sarapiquí is surrounded by lush vegetation, giving you the opportunity to observe a variety of wildlife during the tour, including sloths, iguanas, toucans and monkeys. PLEASE NOTE: A good physical condition is required for this tour. Not recommended for people with obesity or weights over 120 kg (260 lbs). You must know how to swim.
